Man in search for the Absolute

The scientific discoveries over the past century has liberated man from the turmoil of labour and putforth a life capable of realizing any material pleasures and possessions. Science even though started initially with the intention of finding the secret behind the nature and its laws, eventually declared its incapacity to reach the Truth and confined itself to convenience. Scientific theories declare themselves as adhering to facts and experiments but not as the representation of true behaviour of the nature. For e.g the quantam theory which still remains as the ultimate explanation of the secret behind matter and universe, confined itself to dividing the matter into smaller and smaller units and eventually find out the ultimate building units of matter. There are numerous experiments and theoritical inferences that warned the theory of a fundamental error in its assumptions, however science ignored them and took a comfortable path of anlaysing the fragments rather than looking at the whole new possibility of truth behind matter. David Bohm in his book, science, order & creativity describes how the path of science is influenced by the tacit ground of human mind. The tacit ground is the set of assumptions which subliminally influence the decisions of human beings. For e.g even though initially driving a car requires lot of learning, the skills becomes part of the tacit ground eventually and subliminally influences the decisions made by the driver. Similarly, in case of science there are ideas, theories which become part of the tacit ground. Even though scientific theories are extermely rational and objective, there is still lot of scope of theory and assumptions which are intuitive. Several theories of Einstein also have intuitive assumptions some of which are discarded and untrue eventually by experimentalists. The idea is not to point at the lack of intuition of Einstein, rather at the possibility of tacit infrastructure playing a role in determining the path and course of science. Infact, Einstein is the only scientist who went close to the reality with his intuition.
